Paper Lilly

Back again with papers. This time I badly wanted to beg, borrow or steal origami papers to make flowers. But thank God.. I could some how find a shop in Chennai that sells these papers. :)

Got loads of colors and now folding all the time :) Absolutely obsessed :)

Here is the result of it

My paper lilies

The whole smiling bunch of lilies

4 colors, 6 papers and 12 flowers :)

Side look

Could not stop liking this pic :)

Here you go for the video tutorial to make these pretty flowers :)

Hi Nitya,

Beautiful flowers. I have some doubts, What is the paper size you took and how u sticked the flowers to the stick? Could you please clarify my doubt. Thanks.

Hema

Nithya said...

Hema: The paper size is 15cm on all sides. Attaching the flower to the stick is the worst part I can say.

First you need to fix a bead on top of a stick using feviquick(Metal one or just a broom stick). Then insert the stick into the flower from top side. Now roll the bottom portion with green tape. You need to roll more of the tape at the bottom part of the flower so that it does not glide down.

Hope you are clear now. Do get back in case of more doubts.

Hi there. love the colours. very vibrant :>

a little suggestions...
You may like to include some green e.g. handicraft leaves, large, broad leaves (to be placed around the flower) or flower parts, e.g. flower stigma to enhance the overall presentation.

Another thing is that in between the "sharp point", there are 2 flaps. Instead of closing up together, you may consider flip out one of the flap, rather than folding them inward. This will make the flower more natural.

take care :>

Hi Nithya,

Can you say where these crepe papers and origami paper can be get in chennai

Sathya

Nithya said...

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions :) I am really glad that you all liked it.

The crepe paper and double crepe papers are available in most of the stationary shops. I would suggest Raja Stores which is in Ranganathan Street(T.Nagar) for all art related goods if you are in Chennai.

The origami papers are available in Hindustan trading company at Royapettah.
